We are proud to announce, along with Skyline Simulations, a brand new Gibraltar scenery will be coming to both X-Plane and Prepar3D/FSX. Skyline Simulations have brought us products such as Billy Bishop Toronto City and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (KCVG). The team have built up many years of experience in developing products for both primary sims and are now working to bring one the world’s most challenging airports in an updated fashion.
Skyline Simulations intend to simulate various parts of the airport which make it so unique. For example, when an aircraft is on approach or preparing for take off, pedestrian and vehicle traffic will stop crossing the runway as per real-world procedures. Further to that, the team intend to take advantage of new technology such as PBR, super high-resolution details, animated hangers and 3D vegetation. Furthermore, they are going to bring the city of Gibraltar to life with custom hotels, hundreds of 3D buildings and high-resolution orthoimagery for the entire area.
As previously mentioned, Gibraltar from Skyline Simulations is due to be released on both X-Plane and Prepar3D/FSX. No release date has been mentioned at this time, but as you can see from the previews we have been given, progress is coming along.
It’s also worth mentioning that whilst Gibraltar is very much in development, Skyline Simulations has confirmed to us that they still have airports planned in Greece, plus work continues on Long Beach Airport as well as an update for Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (KCVG).
