FSElite is pleased to introduce a brand new scenery developer to the world of flight simulation. Terrapearl Studios was founded very recently, but the team comprises of several experienced scenery developers and dedicated testers to create immersive scenery for the new simulator.
When we spoke to founder and CEO, Luis, he said that his focus is always on quality over quantity. Being a simmer himself, he wants to ensure that he and the team would only create products that they would use themselves. “I have an obsession with detail and to push all platform’s capabilities to the max”, Luis said in an email to FSElite. “When I first saw the previews for [Microsoft Flight Simulator], I was blown away…”, he continued.
With this passion, Luis and the team at Terrapearl Studios have set out to create their first airport for the simulator. Sekiu Airport (11S) serves a small community in Clallam, County in Washington and is surrounded by a huge amount of natural beauty, mountainous terrain and lush forests.
For Terrapeal Studios, quality is at the forefront of their minds. The team may be small, and the testers are carefully selected, but this approach means that communication can be effective and everyone is on the same page to make sure each area of the scenery gets the attention it deserves. “My philosophy and approach to development [is] quite simple: tp make the airport look as realistic as I possibly can with all available resources at hand”, Luis added.
Sekiu Airport (11S) is due out later today (November 16th 2020), but the team are keen to see how the community reacts and the feedback the team receives. Whilst larger airports could be considered for the future, the team want to create airports they think would provide a quality experience for simmers over than rushing something.
FSElite will, of course, follow Terrapearl Studios and their development plans going forward. For now, you can also follow the team on Facebook to stay up-to-date. Once Sekiu Airport (11S) is released, we’ll let you know, but keep your eyes peeled on the Terrapearl Studios store and simMarket for when the product is out.
