Developer Dreamflight Studios has sent FSElite exclusive previews of Biarritz Airport (LFBZ) in action in Microsoft Flight Simulator. The airport hosts a number of domestic and international routes from a variety of airlines but also sees plenty of traffic from local aviation schools. Furthermore, the Dassault Aviation Hangar sees numerous private jets visit on a regular basis.
The three previews sent to us highlight numerous features that will come with the product when it is eventually released. In all three screenshots, we can see extensive use of PBR materials used, in particular on the glass sections of the terminal building. You can see how it is reflecting the sunlight, whilst also being semi-transparent to see the 3D passengers inside. The terminal buildings themselves are also highly detailed with weathering, dirt marks and a range of finer details that make the scenery really stand out. Of course, all of the textures on display are 4K. Furthermore, virtual pilots can use the detailed ground textures to guide them around the airport with the latest layout and then dock themselves to the detailed and custom jetways.
Biarritz Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator has been in development for many months and the team at Dreamflight are keen for simmers to try it out for themselves soon.
We can also reveal that release is “not too far away.” In fact, the team said that if it’s not this weekend, it could be any day next week. Either way, once it has been released, we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
