Our first group Event Flight was a resounding success! Many virtual pilots took advantage of the fully staffed San Francisco and San Diego airports. Whether it was traffic flying between the two events or those flying in or out of those airports to other destinations, it was great fun. The level of professionalism from both pilots and the controllers was excellent and everything ran smoothly. Despite concerns of arrivals into San Diego may be challenging due to volume, it seemed to work out well. There was a lovely build up of traffic on the ramp at San Diego, but that’s to be expected for a small airport.
It got a lot busier as the event went on. Pilots were still flying even after the event finished.
During the event, community members took screenshots of their flight, took part in our competition and engaged with us and developers on our Discord. It was a lot of fun and we hope to do it again soon with another fun airport pairing.
We’ll also be releasing a special 6K PMDG 747 Freighter livery to commemorate us reaching 6,000 organic Facebook likes. We’ll be using this livery in the future for some exciting things!
