FSDreamTeam has released a large update for GSX Pro, introducing new functionality, workflow improvements, and changes aimed at making the tool more practical to use within Microsoft Flight Simulator. The update includes a new cleaning crew feature along with a redesigned map system intended to make stand selection, ground operations, and profile editing more accessible.
Cleaning Crew Service
One of the key additions in this update is the introduction of a cleaning crew. The service appears only when the aircraft is empty and is triggered via the additional services menu. A small van arrives and a team boards either through the aircraft stairs or via a jetway, depending on airport configuration. The number of cleaners varies based on aircraft type, with narrow-body aircraft receiving four staff members and wide-bodies receiving eight.
Animations have been updated to allow characters to operate within the confined interior of an aircraft cabin, with staff adjusting spacing and timing to reduce noticeable clipping or overlapping movement. Each run varies slightly based on randomised pacing and task timing.
New Map System
The most significant change in this update is the introduction of a new versatile map interface. Instead of selecting gates and parking locations through long menu lists, users can now view a visual layout of the airport. The map highlights stands suitable for the currently loaded aircraft and includes tools to zoom, pan, and adjust orientation.
Users can select from different map backgrounds, including OpenStreetMap by default. Google Maps and Bing Maps are also supported if the user provides the required API keys. In addition, Navigraph subscribers can connect their account to display charts directly inside GSX. Relevant departure or arrival procedure charts are automatically highlighted if they align with a loaded SimBrief plan.
Editing and Customisation Tools
The new map also serves as a tool for editing GSX airport profiles. Vehicles, stand guidance systems, and stand boundaries can now be adjusted using drag-and-drop controls rather than fully relying on keyboard and camera manipulation in 3D.
Pushback route editing benefits from the same system. Routes can be plotted visually using waypoints, and adjustments can be made either during setup or during an active pushback using the updated quick-edit mode. This may help users create more realistic or airport-specific pushback paths without requiring external tools.
In-Flight Functionality
The map continues to be available after takeoff, switching automatically into a moving-map mode. Aircraft position, route and surrounding airports are displayed in real time. Users can pre-select their arrival gate mid-flight, allowing GSX to prepare vehicles in advance. If ATC assigns a different stand, the selection can be changed through the map rather than scrolling through multi-page menus.
Availability and Cost
You can get the update for free right now. You will need to already own GSX Pro for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
