Joining forces, flight simulation community members chongwen20110901 and mottoth have taken to the FSDeveloper forums, previewing their rendition of Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (ZSHC) for MSFS.
Located in the Zheijang Province along the Yangtze River Delta, Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (ZSHC) serves as the main gateway to the airports’ namesake city, Hangzhou. It is considered to be the 10th busiest airport in all of China by yearly passenger count. The airport was opened on December 30th, 2000, and has since seen significant growth in passenger and freight traffic.
Today, the airport serves as a hub for Chinese national carrier and Star Alliance member Air China. The airport also sees a wide variety of other airlines operating from its grounds servicing destinations all across the Asian continent. The airport saw its first intercontinental route opened by KLM in 2010, operating a weekly rotation to Amsterdam Schipol.
Initially working on separate versions of the airport, FSDeveloper forum members chongwen20110901 and mottoth have recently agreed to join efforts in bringing a highly detailed and feature-rich version of this Chinese air transport hub to MSFS. Although not providing a detailed feature list just yet, judging by the team’s recently shared previews, the airport is set to come with all the usual bells and whistles.
The developers finally also let interested readers know that the airport will feature a custom created 3D terminal interior, providing additional immersion to simmers flying in and out of the hub.
The team has not, as of yet, set a fixed release date for the scenery. Whether the scenery will be offered for free or whether it will be a payware addition to the sim has not yet been addressed either.
For greater details on the project and other previews, feel free to head over to the FSDeveloper thread linked here.
