X-Plane scenery developer FSDesigns took to social media to announce that their next project will be Jacksonville International Airport. This will be the developer’s third Florida airport scenery.
Jacksonville International Airport (KJAX/JAX) is a military and civil airport that serves as the primary gateway to Northeast Florida. The airport was built in the mid-1960s to replace Imeson Field as Jacksonville’s main airport. The airport is served by all four U.S. “Big 4” airlines and a number of low-cost carriers. The airport is currently undergoing a major renovation project known as “JAXBEYOND,” which will expand the security checkpoint, renovate the existing concourses, and rebuild the previously demolished Concourse B.
In addition to formally announcing the project, FSDesigns shared some photo previews of the upcoming scenery. The team has stated that the project is “nearly completion,” so we can expect more frequent updates about a potential release date. Overall, the previews highlight that FSDesigns has put a lot of thought and detail into the scenery, and it should be exciting to see more of the airport in the coming weeks.
FSElite will continue to monitor the development of this scenery and provide any future updates.
