A recent post on Reddit has showed information on a “A Flight Sim Career Platform for the Modern Age”
Reddit user Ekion has announced FSCharter which has been claimed to be “A Flight Sim Career Platform for the Modern Age“. From the Reddit post, Ekion has stated is far from complete, however 1/3 of the features have already been implemented. FSCharter is exactly what it sounds like. An addon that allows you to create your own company much like FSPassengers but is much more indepth from what it looks like. With features ranging from renting aircraft to friendly competing with other users. There are several screenshots that were posted as well, and by the looks of it, FSCharter goes heavily in depth with everything. Whether it be just creating a company name, or dealing with your finances. FSCharter appears to do a fantastic job of tracking your finances by giving you statistics on how you manage your money.
Ekion made it very clear the idea of the product is not a ‘free-to-start’ or ‘free-to-play’ type deal. He also made it clear that no amount of money can or will buy you progress within FSCharter. Whilst the platform will be free for all, Ekion did confirm that a “premium” subscription will be available to those who want to support the project and unlock certain features beyond the free version. Ekion has also confirmed that FSCharter will release for X-plane first, but FSX and P3D will follow.

Rent, Purchase and Finance Aircraft from the showroom or via classified ads posted by other players.

Build up a reputation with customers. For example, if the job you’re flying is for a business man, he may tell you what time he needs to be at his destination. You then need to calculate the time that he needs to be at the airport. Arrive at the destination too early or too late and you’ll be penalized. Unplanned stopovers (to refuel or pick up other passengers), your global reputation, the quality of your aircraft and your relationship with rival companies all have an impact on your relationships with customers.

Build up a global reputation. Having a good reputation is your ticket to big jobs. Successfully completing flights, flying a well-maintained aircraft, good landings and on-time flights all help you build a global reputation. Landing at the wrong airport, flying a damaged aircraft and discomfort for passengers (bad landings, inappropriate ascent/descent speeds) will all negatively impact your reputation.

Earn achievements and be rewarded. Consistently hitting targets earns you rewards.

Buy land at airports. FSCharter turns your flight simulator into a bustling, dynamic world full of player-owned companies. Land price at airports will fluctuate depending on the number of players owning land. Once you’ve purchased land, you can physically build and place hangars, offices, FBOs and fuel stations in the flight simulator and build your home base. You’ll then be able to offer services such as fuel and FBO, and charge other players for tie-downs, hangar access and aircraft rental.

Be part of a persistent world. FSCharter is like the real world in that you can’t just teleport all over the place. Where you land is where you take off, unless you catch a lift with a friend or pay for a commercial ticket to another airport.

Independent timelines. Don’t want to wait for the return leg of the flight? No problem. Time can be warped to the next flight. Use this feature cautiously – time cannot be rewound. If you’ve accepted a job that you time warp past, you’ll lose reputation.

Be part of a community. Make friends and share access to tie-downs, hangars, or individual aircraft.

Improve your flying. FSCharter logs all aspects of your flight, allowing you to go back and review at any time.

Expand your empire. Recruit real-world pilots to fly for your charter company and expand your operations.
