FlyJSim 2020 Update 1, Talks About Q4XP, X-Plane 11.50 and More

Developers FlyJSim released a new update last Friday about their current development progress for the community. On their Facebook post, the team said that whilst the COVID-19 pandemic has some minor disruptions, the team are continuing to work safely and steadily towards the release of their currently announced projects. These include the awaited Q4XP, X-Plane 11.50 updates to their product range and also a word on Shared Flight.

Starting with X-Plane 11.50, the team said that they have already overhauled both the 737-200 and also the 727 from their product line to the new SASL 3 in anticipation for the new Vulcan and Metal API. However, whilst this good news is great, FlyJSim did say that 3D drawing plugins such as librain will not work in Vulkan and X-Plane 11 will need to be ran in OpenGL mode to utilize this. The team said they hope to revisit this in the future.

Moving onto Shared Flight, the team wanted to assure fans that the project hasn’t been cancelled. Instead, FlyJSim committed that they are continuously refining features for shared flight which has slightly delayed the product. With that said, Shared Flight has moved into internal alpha testing and are starting to get feedback from testers. They hope pace will pick up and that large-scale testing will soon happen.

One of X-Plane’s most anticipated aircraft is the Q4XP. This Q400 Dash 8 will be highly detailed with plenty of features and functionality to sink your teeth into. The team for this update said that systems are well underway. However, they are unable to detail exactly what at this point and would much rather show off the features than tell everyone about it right now. That said, they did want to show off the current cockpit modelling, texturing and overall progress. You can find them below.

That then wraps up their update on Facebook. You can follow them on the social media platform to stay updated.
