FlyingIron Simulations has updated its Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-8 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

This update brings significant enhancements to the sound set and flight model, along with a range of bug fixes and general improvements. It also resolves several issues that cropped up in MSFS24, including LOD-related disappearing meshes and overly strong windshield reflections. The flight model has also been refined to ensure smoother compatibility with MSFS24.

  • Fixed MSFS viewpoint desync issues for 1-shot sounds
  • Fixed start-up and shutdown sounds not triggering in all views
  • Fixed AI/Multiplayer Fw 190 sounds not obeying volume settings
  • Fixed looping engine cooldown sound
  • Improved interior engine & prop spatialization and channel spread
  • Improved wind dynamics, balance, and spread
  • Re-added prop-wash wind and improved cockpit airflow sounds
  • Propeller sound tuning improvements
  • Improved ground-roll, rattle, and impact sound mix and balance

Flight Model & Systems Updates

  • New governor logic linking RPM to Ata rather than throttle position
  • Fixed bug in the new MP-dependent governor
  • Major flight model update
  • Updated ball coordinator to use native SimVar
  • Increased fuel line volume and throughput to resolve the starvation bug
