Fly2High has just released Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator. A popular summer vacation destination along the Gulf Coast of the United States, KVPS promises stunning approaches along this beautiful coastal setting.
The airport is located within Eglin Air Force Base near the town of Destin and Fort Walton Beach in Okaloosa County, Florida. Undergoing a series of name changes, Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport was most recently known as Okaloosa Regional Airport until 2008. The airport is unique in that only commercial air traffic is allowed, while non-commercial general aviation must use the nearby Destin Executive Airport.
Fly2High has created this airport scenery using PBR materials throughout along with realistic apron clutter and customized airport detail. There are animated flags, antenna, and passengers walking outside. While the airport does not include any interior modeling, the exterior appears to be fully modeled in an accurate representation of the terminal area and buildings. Fly2High has even modeled the Air Force Base, providing users with an area to operate their military aircraft.
Fly2High now has a handful of sceneries available through Flightsim.to, including two additional popular destinations within the US – Fresno Yosemite International Airport and Southwest Florida International Airport.
KVPS is available for purchase through Flightsim.to for $8.99.
