Developer Fly 2 High has partnered with iniBuilds to release their version of Jackson, Mississippi’s Jackson–Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (KJAN). Located 6 miles (9.7 km) east of the central business district of Jackson, the capital of the U.S. state of Mississippi, KJAN is the largest commercial airport in the state, handling over 1.22 million passengers annually. The airport is named after Medgar Wiley Evers, a civil rights activist who was assassinated in Jackson in 1963.
Fly 2 High states that the airport features animated passengers, dynamic lighting, and “true to life” ground texturing. The passenger terminal has detailed interior and exterior modeling along with custom animated jetway models. KJAN’s general aviation, cargo, and military facilities are also modeled in detail.
Scheduled airline service to KJAN is provided by Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, United Airlines, and Southwest and the airport sees service to 25 daily destinations. The north end of the airport, known as Thompson Field, hosts the Mississippi Air National Guard’s 172nd Airlift Wing flying the C-17 Globemaster III transport.
