The developer has posted an announcement, notifying the community of the launch of a new tool. This newly launched tool or app has been named “eLoadcontrol”, which gives a hint towards its function. The tool is a way to enrich or enhance the loadsheet generation with some real world calculations, most notably for the weight and balance figures. According to their website, this new development team consists of employees that have day to day experience working as ground crew, loadmasters and engineers. The goal for this app is to take this knowledge and add some extra realism to your flight simulation experience.
To genereate the loadsheets you can manually input the data, however for a smoother experience, the tool can work in concert with SimBrief to allow you to prefill some figures. These figures are, together with a handmade database that contains standardized weight and balance limitations, used to calculate and generate a new, more detailed loadsheet. In contrast to SimBrief, the loadsheet should now also contain data on how to distribute the cargo between your aircrafts (forward and aft) cargo compartments. An additional feature is to have the loadsheet sent to your favorite aircraft add-on via ACARS (and the Hoppie network).
At the moment of writing the tool appears to be donationware, and can be accessed via this website.
Features
- Weight and Balance Calculations: The app calculates %MAC for Zero Fuel Weight (ZFW), Takeoff Weight (TOW), and Landing Weight (LDW).
- Loadsheet and Loadplan Generation: It produces a loadsheet for the virtual pilot, which can be used for takeoff performance calculations and load planning, distributing cargo across various cargo sections for the virtual ground crew.
- ACARS Messaging: Generate and send ACARS messages to your cockpit using Hoppie’s network.
