Update 24-Nov-2024 @ 15:45z: A second video was shown off featuring icing and window heat failure. You can watch it here (embedding has been disabled by FSLabs.
FlightSimLabs have confirmed they are bringing the Airbus A321 to both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024, having released a teaser trailer showcasing the icing effects and de-icing systems.
The video trailer shows how ice and snow builds up on the aircraft as it sits on the stand, and demonstrates how the pilot is able to request the appropriate de-icing services via the MCDU.
Additionally, the video is accompanied by an announcement that the aircraft is coming to both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, and eventually Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 as a free upgrade. The post goes on to state the aircraft will include ‘realistic environmental interactions with Microsoft Flight Simulator’s advanced weather engine’ and an ‘enhanced immersion for those who demand the highest level of simulation realism.’
The video is amongst some of the first teaser content FlightSimLabs have released, after precisely confirming the existence of their A321 in MSFS after a mysterious website had been discovered that alluded to the aircraft’s existence, before being removed. However shortly after the site was taken down, Lefteris from FlightSimLabs confirmed that the website was indeed real and that they are releasing an A321 for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
The video’s accompanying text includes the age-old adage of ‘Release Date: Coming soon!’, but one must hope that with such in-depth teaser videos being dropped, the aircraft will hopefully be landing very soon.
