FlightSimExpo 2021 Dates and Location Announced

FlightSimExpo 2021 will be taking place from June 4th – June 6th 2021 in San Diego, United States. FlightSimExpo 2021 will take on a new hybrid format consisting of both an online and in-person event, providing flexibility and opportunity for everyone around the world to take part.

This is the first time FlightSimExpo has taken on this hybrid format. Evan from FlightSimExpo said, “recognizing current times, we wanted to make FlightSimExpo 2021 accessible to anyone. Safety-permitting, we’ll welcome those who want to join us in person in San Diego. And if you can’t attend the in-person event—or prefer not to—you’ll still be able to connect with this year’s show online.”

The in-person event will take place at the Town and Country Resort in San Diego. As with past events, the focus will be on product announcements, how-to seminars, educational discussions and a large exhibit hall to try out the latest in simulation software and hardware. The location was chosen based on feedback from the community and developers, as well as the great transportation options, great weather and accessibility options to the city, beaches and beyond. Over the coming months, conference staff and volunteers will be working with airlines, transportation companies, and local attractions to arrange special discounts for attendees.

Town and Country Resort in San Diego was chosen as the hotel location due to its iconic status and great facilities. The hotel has just completed a $90 million renovation meaning the hotel now features a four-story waterslide, penthouse fitness facility, a three-acre park, five on-site dining and beverage options. The hotel is also a short walk to Fashion Valley Mall. FlightSimExpo attendees will pay discounted rates of just US$151.87 per night, including taxes and fees, which also includes other perks such as unlimited WiFi, waived hotel service charges and also shuttle services to nearby attractions.

As with previous years, the main conference and tradeshow will be held on Saturday, June 5th and Sunday, June 6th, with Captains’ Corner taking place on Friday, June 4th 2021. For FlightSimExpo 2021, Captains’ Corner will include early access to the exhibit hall. More details on schedules will be released closer to the event.

As for the online event, no further details have yet to be shared.

Continuing on to address the concerns of in-person shows in light of the current pandemic, FlightSimExpo has confirmed that there will be complete flexibility regarding people’s tickets. The team are fully committed to a show next year and are prepared to adapt to whatever the plan may need to be. Phil Coyl, co-founder of FlightSimExpo, went onto to say “The theme of this year’s event is flexibility and transparency.”

“When we had to make the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 show, we gave everyone the option to receive a refund. We will offer the same flexibility again this year: it will be free to change or cancel your registration up to the day before the show and of course there’s the online-only option for attendees to consider too. Even if it’s not safe for us to host an in-person event, there will be a FlightSimExpo 2021,” Phil concluded.

This is still a developing situation and we’ll be sure to keep you updated as we learn more. For now, set a reminder in your calendars that FlightSimExpo 2021 will take place from June 4th – June 6th 2021 in San Diego, United States.
