FlightSim Studio has released its sixth update for the Boeing 727 Freighter for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Announced on their news blog, this new v1.0.6 update includes fixes and improvements to various systems such as the engine gauges during startup and shutdown, hydraulic logic, approach callouts, tweaks to the 3D model and more. FlightSim Studio has also added new features to the Boeing 727 Freighter, including the British Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) Boeing 727 livery and the Zero-G Boeing 727 livery.
Along with these special liveries, FlightSim Studio has redesigned both cabins to accurately match their real-world counterparts. They have also added the spray equipment and built an interactive control panel on the FE panel to the Oil Spill Response livery so that you can fly the entire procedure as realistically as possible. FlightSim Studio has also included a dedicated mission in the documentation that will guide you through the operation.
FlightSim Studio also mentioned on their news blog that they are working on the GNS-XLS flight management computer and that they’re in the final stages with a working release hopefully before Christmas, as long as nothing unexpected comes up. The GNS-XLS will support manual flight plan entry as well as SimBrief import, PLAN pages with fuel consumption, holds, direct to, waypoint times and an integrated moving map.
Moving on, FlightSim Studio gave an update regarding MSFS24 saying that they are planning a free compatibility update for MSFS24 initially, and next year they will start working on an MSFS24 native version of the B727 Freighter that fully utilises the new simulator features. However, they said that this would not be a free upgrade.
Finally, FlightSim Studio mentioned that they are working on the passenger version of the Boeing 727 and that the project is well underway, although it won’t be ready this year. They are also planning a VIP variant and also the Super27 which is a modernised version with an updated cockpit and more powerful engines.
