FlightSim Studio’s Airfield Detmold is available now for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
Located in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, this old airfield has had a rich history despite its size. It was first born after WWI, serving gliders post-Treaty of Versailles, when Germany was banned from powered flight. During WWII, the airfield was converted into an airfield for the Luftwaffe, where it maintained the wooden Focke-Wulf Ta 154 “Moskito.” Once the Americans invaded, it once again changed hands and supplied heavy cargo planes for the Allies. Today, it’s well known in the region as a multi-use airfield that supports gliders, helicopters, and general aviation.
