FlightSim Studio has released the Boeing 727 Super27 Expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024.
The Super27 Expansion features modernised JT8D-217C pod engines, avionics and cockpit features, based upon the Boeing 727-200 Advanced. This new expansion brings more power, new engine sounds and advanced aircraft systems to the simulator.
Central to the upgrade are the JT8D-217C pod engines, featuring the distinctive clamshell thrust reversers, complemented by improved flight dynamics and a high-idle mode designed to deliver more authentic handling characteristics. Inside the cockpit, enhancements include digital fuel gauges, automatic spoilers, dual DME receivers, and a moving map display. A digital VSI with integrated TCAS further improves situational awareness and is also compatible with the base 727 packages.
The standout feature is the optional Collins EFIS suite, accessible via the clipboard, which comes paired with the APS-85 autopilot and VNAV capability. This retrofit modernises the flight deck by replacing the traditional ADI and HSI with electronic displays, giving flexibility to fly with either classic instruments or contemporary avionics, resulting in a more adaptable flying experience.
A range of authentic Super27 liveries for the Passenger or Freighter are also included.
