FlightSim Studio Pushes New B727F Update

FlightSim Studio has recently released a big update for their Boeing 727-200 Freighter for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Focusing on the highlights, this new v1.0.8 update introduces the Sperry-150 autopilot developed by Sperry Flight Systems, which was a key system used in the Boeing 727, providing essential flight control automation in a time before modern digital avionics. FlightSim Studio have carefully recreated its functionality to provide an authentic experience, including the option to assign hardware buttons, especially for those with dedicated hardware setups.

The team has also updated their GNS-XLS to support Airway entry, making the manual input of longer routes much more manageable and more closely reflecting real-world operations. The forward pedestal panel has also been overhauled and includes a WX & Terrain radar dummy screen.

FlightSim Studio has made several improvements to the sound design, including a more distinct Pratt & Whitney JT8D sound set with adjusted volume levels and improvements to the sound positioning within the B727F. Rattle sounds have now been added, and several sound bugs have been fixed.

Moving on, the team have also taken a deeper dive into the Boeing 727F’s fuel system, working closely with real B727 flight engineers to fine tune the behavior and eliminate existing shortcomings. FlightSim Studio hopes these improvements will ensure a more accurate and reliable simulation of fuel management within the aircraft.

Finally, thanks to a dedicated community member, a new flight plan clipboard is now at users’ disposal, which can load your SimBrief OFP directly onto it. This can now be moved from the engineer’s table or to the forward pedestal, which will be handy for CIVA INS users as it allows you to keep all your waypoint coordinates right next to the INS system for easy reference.

The v1.0.8 update also includes a list of fixes, changes and enhancements. The full changelog can be found below.

Existing FlightSim Studio Boeing 727 Freighter owners can download the update directly from Aerosoft One or the Contrail App.

You can purchase the FlightSim Studio Boeing 727-200 Freighter from Contrail for £28.74 (Excluding VAT).
