FlightFX has teased a single-image preview of something it will unveil on September 8, 2026. But whether it’s an entirely new project, a previously announced project, or an upgrade to FlightFX’s current product lineup, we don’t know. The single image, featuring a dark silhouette on a black background, was posted on FlightFX’s social media and Discord. Speculation about what the image represents is running rampant, but we do have a clue from the developer that it might not be what we are expecting; the image was posted with the comment, “We know what you’re thinking. Nope. And Nope”.
Simmers familiar with FlightFX’s development queue know the team has been working on both the Embraer ERJ 145 regional jet and the Bombardier Challenger 350 super-midsize business jet. Both aircraft have had several preview images released via various official channels, but no release dates have been made public. What’s unclear is whether the image is showing us that one of these aircraft is close to release, or teasing something else.

One can assume the “Nope. And Nope.” comment from FlightFX is referring to these two previously announced, known releases. So, could we be looking at something entirely new: a surprise, unannounced release? Discord users pointed out a new channel on the developer’s Discord server labeled “Project Huntress”, but the name doesn’t yield many clues either, since the only aircraft to bear this moniker are a 1940s radial engine fighter that never made it into full-scale production, and a Ukrainian strike and reconnaissance drone. One thing is for sure: FlightFX has been busy lately with a massive V2 update to their Citation X, so it’s also possible that the teaser could mean an update for another aircraft in the developer’s stable. But if the date in the teaser image holds, we won’t have to wait long to find out.

What do you think the preview is for? Leave your guess in the comments below, and we’ll find out who was correct in a few short days.
