FlightFX Shows New Challenger 350 and Citation X Previews

FlightFX, already a much-lauded developer for its lineup of high-performance executive aviation aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator, has released a handful of new previews for its upcoming Bombardier Challenger 350 and Cessna Citation X.

The previews were shared across the developer’s social media feeds and on Discord.

Beginning with the Challenger, we can see that this aircraft is now truly out of the modelling workshop and into the sim. Sporting an all-white livery, the screenshots give us a detailed look at some of the interior and exterior features, such as the engine nacelles, wingtips, luxury cabin, and, crucially, the cockpit.

That cockpit seems to be coming along very nicely indeed. Although the flight displays are not yet working and are simply depicted as white squares in these images, what we do see is the level of detail on the two pilots’ seats, some of the autopilot panel, a sunvisor for those really bright days, and modelled headsets hanging on both pilots’ sides of the cockpit.

There’s clearly still a lot of work to be done on the Challenger, but seeing it continuing to progress nicely in the sim environment is welcome news to anybody following the status of this upcoming aircraft addon.

Just yesterday, FlightFX dropped some further new images of the Citation X, which is also in development at the moment, along with the E-145. This aircraft is quite a bit further along in development than the Challenger, and the screenshots depict an aircraft which is nearly ready for the general public.

However, simmers eager to get their hands on the jet will have to wait a little longer as FlightFX confirmed in their post that the aircraft is being slightly delayed while the studio finishes “cleaning up some of the things we weren’t satisfied with”.

That being said, however, the screenshots depict a stunning rendition of the business jet. We can see that the FlightFX EFB, which debuted in the Piaggio, is back. Visible are options to set weights, view Navigraph charts, connect with ground services, and access configuration settings. One image in particular of the flight instrument panel shows just how much attention to detail has gone into the aircraft.

FSElite will be the first to bring you any further updates on FlightFX’s upcoming projects!
