On the eve of the release of their upcoming P180 turboprop for Microsoft Flight Simulator, members of the FlightFX team joined flight simulation content creator TwoToneMurphy to discuss the state of current projects and reveal they are working on an aircraft that ranks among the most-requested add-ons for the sim: the Embraer E145 Regional Jet! According to FlightFX, “The team is very excited about this project and we plan on pushing boundaries and making something never seen before from FlightFX. The E145 is currently entering assembly which means we are putting stuff together 3D-wise.”

The E145 is a regional jet designed and manufactured by Brazilian aerospace manufacturer, Embraer. With a typical seating capacity of 50 passengers, the E145 is well-suited for short to medium-haul flights, making it a mainstay for operators on high-demand regional routes worldwide. Equipped with the Honeywell Primus 1000 avionics suite, Embraer manufactured a total of 1,240 airframes in the “ERJ” series, which included the E145, E145XR, and shortened E140 and E135 versions of the aircraft.
During the stream, FlightFX’s CEO Nick Sdoucos confirmed that they will be developing both the E145 and E145XR and plan to deliver at least two interior configurations: a “JSX-style” all-business class, 1 – 1 seating configuration, and the more typical 50-passenger, 1 – 2 seating configuration. The E145’s flightdeck will feature the Primus 1000 avionics suite, which, coding-wise, will be based on work done for FlightFX’s upcoming Primus 2000 avionics-equipped C750 – speaking of which, Nick revealed during the live stream that the C750 is expected to be released near the end of March or beginning of April 2025 and will retail for $29.99 USD.

A very preliminary estimate from FlightFX targets the “early 4th Quarter” of 2025 with release planned for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and possibly Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 based on market demand. According to Nick, the aircraft will be “challenging for those who want it to be challenging but also accommodate casual simmers who just want to have fun.” Stay tuned as more details emerge!
