FlightFX Announces Release Date for Piaggio P.180 for MSFS 2024

FlightFX has announced that its Piaggio P.180 Avanti II will be released for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (MSFS 2024) on March 12, 2026. The MSFS 2024-native version of the distinctive twin, pusher-turboprop has been built to take full advantage of the new simulator’s capabilities and will include advanced flight and engine modeling, a refined flight model, a reworked autopilot, and full support for MSFS 2024’s career mode. The MSFS 2024-native version comes just over a year after the original release of the aircraft for MSFS 2020.

The release announcement comes alongside the news that the aircraft is now an officially licensed product by Baykar Piaggio. This distinction brings name and branding updates to both the 2020 and 2024 versions of the aircraft. According to Nick Sdoucos, FlightFX’s CEO, having an officially licensed product “…reflects our commitment to representing the Piaggio P.180 Avanti II accurately, partnering properly, and continuing to refine the experience through meaningful updates over time.

FlightFX’s rendition of the P.180 Avanti II for MSFS 2024 features ProLine 21 avionics based on Working Title’s V2 framework. EFB functions are provided via FlightFX’s Virtual Aircraft Management System (VAMS) 2.0 tablet integration, which is said to offer more precise control over passenger seating and cargo. According to FlightFX, the aircraft has been developed in collaboration with real-world pilots, ensuring the P.180 offers a highly authentic flight experience that accurately replicates the handling and systems of the actual turboprop. A 96-page manual, including checklists, is available here.
