FlightFactor has released their Engine Expansion pack for their 777-200ER for X-Plane 11 and 12, bringing new engine choices to the aircraft. The pack adds the Pratt & Whitney PW4090 engine with a highly accurate EPR model, with the Rolls-Royce Trent 892 option coming later as a free update.
The PW4090 comes with a custom-made sound package designed to match the engine’s characteristics. The engine also features both primary and alternate N1-based Electronic Engine Control modes, with FlightFactor claiming their Engine Pressure Ratio calculations achieve accuracy within 3% of real-world data.

The Engine Expansion pack is available now on the X-Plane.org store for a discounted price of $15.00, reduced from $20.00, though the duration of this discount hasn’t been specified. The expansion requires the FlightFactor 777-200ER v2 Ultimate base aircraft.
For new customers, FlightFactor offers a complete package including both the 777-200ER Ultimate and Expansion for $104.00. However, with the base aircraft priced at $89.00, there’s no additional saving compared to buying both add-ons separately.
FlightFactor states they plan to expand their engine line-up, with up to 27 unique engine models across 18 different types planned for their 777 Ultimate series. These would become available to Engine Expansion pack owners as they’re released.
