A new update is now available for FlightControlReplay v5, bringing further refinements to the popular replay and recording tool used across Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020/2024 and Prepar3D v5–v6. The new “Autumn 2025” update is free for existing users and focuses on improving stability, performance, and support for complex aircraft.
The core improvement this time around is a new adaptive replay algorithm designed to analyse FPS performance during playback. The system adjusts dynamically depending on load, scenery density, or system fluctuations, to deliver smoother replays and fewer stutters, particularly during approaches, airport operations, or when using high-fidelity aircraft.
Recording automation has also seen some attention. A new altitude-based trigger allows users to automatically stop a recording when crossing a selected altitude. This should help streamers and instructors build cleaner workflows and segmented recordings without manual input. A long-standing timestamp issue, where recordings stopped at midnight, has also been addressed.
FlightControlReplay’s RELIVE feature has also seen improvements. The component allows users rewind and watch previous moments during an active flight . Elevator movement has been refined to help improve accuracy during pitch-critical playback moments. View switching between user aircraft and PlayAsAI mode has been rewritten to improve visual consistency and reduce delays when capturing cinematic angles.
