Flightbeam Studios has delivered both good news and bad news. Starting with the bad news, Flightbeam Studios confirmed that their previously announced Auckland International Airport (NZAA) will be delayed. This is because the site survey hasn’t taken place yet to ensure that the team can get the best quality that the airport deserves. During this time, the airport has gone through some major changes and construction work, which would have meant that a proper survey couldn’t be achieved to the standards Flightbeam would want to do. Whilst this information was known to the developers back in late 2017, there is some good news to this story.
The team does expect to have a full survey of the airport completed in the next few months, at which point production will continue at full pace.
Onto more good news. Whilst this delay to NZAA may be sad, it hasn’t meant Mir has been sat around. Instead, he’s been busy working on a different airport that has ‘similar qualities’ as Auckland. Mir anticipates that the release will be sometime this summer. No concrete details on what the airport will be or where it is.
If you want to be able to see the full reveal of the airport, you’re going to have to wait until June when it’s officially shown off at the FSExpo in Las Vegas.
We already know that the teams are working on Portland International Airport. It’s going to be a busy year for Flightbeam.
