Flightbeam has shared a short video preview of their brand-new custom VDGS for Microsoft Flight Simulator airports. Designed specifically by the scenery development team, Flightbeam will be implementing this functionality across their suite of Microsoft Flight Simulator airports.
The first airport to have the new Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) will be Auckland International Airport (NZAA). The new custom system will recognise the aircraft type you’re in and provide visual guidance to correctly park at the gate. VDGS is found mostly at large international airports and is useful for pilots when docking at gates at terminal buildings. You can see a preview video of it in action above.
The plan right now is for the new feature to be added to the airport completely free of charge by the end of January. We’ll be sure to update you once we learn more from Flightbeam about its release.
