Flight Replicas Previews Super Cub for Prepar3D V5

Over on Facebook, Flight Replicas announced development their newest aircraft, the Piper Super Cub exclusively for Prepar3D V5. The Super Cub in development is based off the former military L-21. The L-21 variant of the aircraft was chosen due to its superior outward visibility thanks to the military style windows lining the cockpit. This aircraft will be a complete, stand alone, variant and will not be connected to any former Super Cub packages for FSX or Prepar3D.

Flight Replicas’ L-21 Super Cub will have brand new parts throughout the entire aircraft. The virtual cockpit has been recreated using 4k textures including the spec and alpha files. The engine can be started to let it warm by reaching through the door or the user can hand prop it if desired. The ability to tie down the aircraft and “put it to bed” is also included.

The aircraft is still a work-in-progress but Flight Replicas noted it is almost finished. No other features or release date were included in their announcement.

My love for everything flightsim started back on FSX in 2007. I can be found flying the 737 almost every night all over the US on Volanta!
