Flight Replicas announced their next project to be the Mk.Vb Spitfire just last month. The developer has now shared a few more previews of the upcoming warbird. The model shown particularly was originally a Mk.1b that was converted to a Mk.Vb later during its life.

The previews show quite a lot of the plane. We get to see the cockpit quite up close, featuring a lot of detail. The modelling and textures seem to be of pretty high quality, and in general the development progress seems to be coming along well as the plane appears rather complete. The outside also features a lot of detail, with cannons, machine gun ports and more.

Unfortunately, Flight Replicas did confirm that the Spitfire will come with the P-51 Reno soundset from Microsoft’s Reno expansion instead of a custom soundset that is more accurate and authentic to a real Spitfire. Flight Replicas’ P-40N features the same Reno P-51 soundset.

Flight Replicas is the third offering of the Spitfire for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Other Spitfires available for the platform are Aeroplane Heaven’s Spitfire Mk.1a and FlyingIron Simulations’ Mk.IXc.
