FlightControlReplay has previewed the next major evolution of its replay and cinematic toolkit, alongside an update to its spotting-focused companion tool, giving simmers a glimpse at what’s coming next for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
FlightControlReplay 6 Announced
A teaser for FlightControlReplay 6 has been revealed, signalling what the developer describes as a “new generation” of the popular replay tool. The upcoming version is expected to launch in 2026, with a strong focus on usability, cinematic tools, and deeper integration with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
One of the biggest changes is a completely redesigned interface. Flight Control Tools says this will provide a faster workflow and more intuitive slider-based controls. A new Cinematic Mode will allow fully unrestricted camera movement, enabling more immersive and film-style captures than before.
Also new is a Fly-By Camera system, exclusive to MSFS 2024, which enables users to track live flights with precision zoom and integrated AI traffic support. This builds on the tool’s core strength of replaying and capturing flights, now with more dynamic and automated camera behaviour.
Additional features include automatic highlight creation, allowing simmers to quickly generate key moments from their flights, and a dedicated Data Logger interface with detachable charts for deeper analysis.
Existing users will also benefit from reduced upgrade pricing, although full details are yet to be announced. The developer has confirmed that further features will be revealed closer to release.

FlightControlSpotter 2 Update Coming Soon
Alongside the new replay tool, the developer also shared details on an upcoming update for FlightControlSpotter 2, aimed at improving the aircraft spotting experience.
The update introduces a Fly-By Camera in Spot View, again tailored for MSFS 2024, alongside the ability to save custom drone camera positions for repeatable and consistent shots. This should make it easier for content creators to capture specific angles without needing to reposition each time.
The update will be free for all registered users, including those who purchased via the MSFS Marketplace or SimMarket, and is currently planned for release in April 2026.
