Fenix Simulations has rolled out a new update for its Airbus A320/A319/A321 series, bringing with it an extensive rework of the autothrust system, refinements to fly-by-wire roll control, sound improvements, and infrastructure upgrades. This is the second update since the ‘BFU’ update came out a few weeks ago.
The standout change is the complete rebuild of the autothrust system, which now behaves much closer to the real aircraft. Instead of aggressively correcting speed and altitude deviations, the new system applies smoother and more predictive thrust adjustments within realistic tolerances. This change is particularly noticeable in cruise, where the reworked Soft Cruise function allows the aircraft to subtly trade speed and altitude for smoother passenger comfort.
Alongside this, the fly-by-wire roll channel has seen further refinement. Using data from multiple level-D simulators, pilot feedback, and adjusted PID controllers, the roll axis now carries more inertia and includes new damping logic for a more natural control response.
Sound work has also progressed, with fixes to the new audio system and fresh wind recordings for both the cockpit and cabin, enhancing immersion. On the technical side, the display rendering system has been optimised, streamlining display options in the Fenix Launcher while boosting performance and robustness.
Finally, on the commerce front, Fenix has introduced a broader range of payment options, including Alipay and WeChat Pay for customers in China, and iDEAL for those in the Netherlands.
You can get the update via the Fenix Installer as per usual. If you don’t own the Fenix Simulations aircraft, you can check out their website for information on pricing and how to purchase.
