Fenix Simulations Previously Planned for an A350

Fenix confirmed that they had planned but got shelved a while back.

Fenix Simulations Previously Planned for an A350

Yesterday, iniBuilds released its A350 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Many are now flying the virtual plane in their simulator, including those from other development studios like Fenix Simulations.

On the Fenix Simulations Discord channel, Aamir, CEO of Fenix Sim, provided his personal views on the iniBuilds A350 (not official company stance). From those comments, we did learn some interesting news about Fenix Sim previously having had plans for an A350 for MSFS.

He said that Fenix had the A350 lined up to build afterwards. Furthermore, he said “it would have been incredible as a very prominent airline partner offered us both an aircraft to completely 3D scan.” Furthermore, Aamir said that they also had an offer to use an actual Trent XWB engine to gather data to build “the most complex XEM module yet.”

Due to the market share now being divided, Aamir felt it was not worth the risk of multiple years of work from their team to sell less than their A320 at three times the cost. Therefore, they cancelled any development following the announcement of the iniBuilds one. Subsequent messages within the Discord did not sway Aamir to reconsider Fenix’s stance on the development of an A350 of their own at this time.

Aamir did clarify further that he believes it is “not a bad product”.

Whilst there are other comments from both sides on the matter of personal opinions, our focus here is what could’ve been with a Fenix A350 in our hangars. Time will tell what Fenix has in store for us in the future.

[Made a slight edit to the article to better reflect the news on the A350, not the personal opinions]
