Whilst FeelThere’s Tower! Sim 3 may not be the usual simulator content you see, it certainly relates to our hobby in that it enables you to simulate a part of aviation that is incredibly important to any journey: ATC operations. Over the years, Tower! Sim 3 has grown and expanded and the next update looks to be one of the most significant overhauls yet.
According to FeelThere, this is a “major leap forward” for the simulator that “redefines the very essence of ATC simulation.” The ‘Places 4’ update will come with a brand new rendering engine to enhance lighting, vegetation, and vastly improve performance.
The new High Definition Render Pipeline (HDRP) will bring improved visuals to Tower! Sim 3, that brings realistic lighting, improved environments, and new cloud effects. There is now new 3D grass and vegetation, new cloud formations, and also post-rain wet ground effects, all adding to the realism. Everything has been optimised for improved performance. There is also support for FSR 3.0 (FidelityFX Super Resolution).
In addition to the improvements, there is also a new airport coming to the simulator for you to control: the Maldives. This is a free airport to Tower 3! Sim, and gives you the chance to control in the picturesque landscapes of the area. From the Trans Maldivian Airways water terminal to the bustling international runway, it’s a tropical getaway in your ATC tower.
The update also brings with it new mouse commands and improved UI features. New aircraft labels will show the callsign, allowing you to issue commands with just a click, whilst the color-coded system adds a helpful guide through the importance of each command. Finally, a new taxi route feature will also help you visualise where each plane is headed.
The new update is just a few weeks away for those who own Tower 3! Sim. If you don’t already own a copy, you can pick up yours from FeelThere’s website for $59.99 ahead of the launch and get the update immediately once it has been released.
