Fangzahn Aviation Studios, known for various YouTube videos over time, released a freeware version of Zakynthos Airport last year. The developer has taken to Facebook today to discuss the future of the freeware with regards to Prepar3D v5 and also a teaser for the scenery coming to a different platform.
On the Facebook post, it was said that an all new version of the scenery would be created for the new Prepar3D v5 SDK, along with using new features of the simulator. Alongside that, Fangzhan will also add satellite imagery that covers just shy of 100km2.
The post continued by saying that a small compatibility patch will be released but is awaiting some people to help test the product for version 1.
Whilst the original version is freeware, the post isn’t explicit in saying that the new version (with satellite imagery) will also be. We have reached out to the developers to ask and will update the article accordingly.
Update: The developer has written in our comment section that the next version will continue to be freeware.
Finally the post concluded with a tease that the airport is being unofficially converted to X-Plane 11 (which was seemingly confirmed in a later comment).
