A year ago, we informed the flight simulation community that Ed Correria had left Orbx. After 11 years in the company, he left the company and has since been quiet about what his future held. During his tenure at Orbx as Head of Production, he oversaw product roadmaps, managed various teams, and lead the company to great success. Ed soon moved to become Head of Partners, working with various third-parties to make OrbxDirect a home for many talented developers. He worked closely with then-CEO John Venema to consult with developers, and provide support for the day-to-day operation and was seen by many as a critical part of Orbx’s growth.
Today marks the start of a new era for Ed with Parallel 42 confirming a new position and Ed fulfilling that role. As Head of Operations, Ed Correia will support Parallel 42 in providing insight into streamlining processes and providing long-term business growth through new partnerships.
Edson, Managing Director of Parallel 42, will continue to provide the direction of the business, but now supported by Ed who has a long history of building relationships with other developers in the industry. What those relations will look like in the future is anyone’s guess at the moment. In a brief statement, Parallel 42 said, “As an official part of our team, we’re confident his networking and operational skills will lead us to new milestones.”
We keenly look forward to learning more about how Ed will shape Parallel 42 in the future. In the meantime, why not check out the 737 Immersion update that added iFly’s 737 to the suite of effects.
