Echo19 Audio has released its Cessna 172 Precision Audio Pack for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020/2024, delivering a completely reworked sound environment for one of the sim’s most popular aircraft.
The package uses Echo19’s proprietary ECHOFX sound engine to dynamically layer and react to the aircraft’s behaviour. From the moment you start rolling, you’ll hear dirt swirl, ground rumble, and cabin squeaks that respond to your movement. Once in the air, the sounds continue to adapt, with realistic flap motor positions, propeller flutter in strong winds, and a stall horn that varies in pitch depending on angle of attack.

Inside the cockpit, all switches, levers, and knobs feature spatially placed sounds recorded in 96 kHz ambisonic quality. Pilots can also experience subtle details such as fuel slosh that responds to tank levels and manoeuvres, airflow changes from cabin air and heat knobs, and alternator whine that can be toggled on or off. Even environmental factors like cold starts and rough running engines are reflected in the audio.
The pack also includes four new liveries for MSFS 2024, plus an additional livery for MSFS 2020, giving simmers a few visual extras alongside the sound enhancements.
For those flying the Cessna 172 regularly, the Precision Audio Pack offers a noticeable upgrade in atmosphere, bringing the aircraft to life with a depth of sound rarely seen in default or modified audio sets.
