A little over a week since it was first announced, Echo 19 Audio has released its Precision Sound Pack for the Black Square TBM 850, delivering a huge soundscape upgrade for the high-performance turboprop in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Using two real-world TBM 850 airframes, Echo 19 sourced high-fidelity audio using multiple microphone angles at ultra-high quality 192kHz resolution to create the sound pack. The pack realistically captures the true character of the aircraft, including interior sounds and warning tones, ground roll effects, and, of course, the TBM 850’s Pratt & Whitney PT6 engine across all flight regimes.
The TBM 850 Precision Sound Pack uses Echo19 Audio’s proprietary EchoFX sound engine to create dynamically layered, spatial sound that reacts to the aircraft’s environment and movement. Spatial sound support includes prop wash effects, rattles, and dozens of subtle cues for total immersion. From the moment you push the power lever forward and start rolling, the soundscape reacts in real time to flight physics, G-forces, and aircraft state. Echo 19 Audio has also included two free, custom liveries as a “launch bonus” for customers.
TBM 850 Precision Sound Pack Features:
- Completely rebuilt PT6 engine sounds
- Immersive and authentic four-blade propeller audio with differences in sound ranging from beta, fully feathered, and other resonance effects
- Real-aircraft warning-tone captures
- Detailed cockpit switches, controls, and interactions
- Revamped audio for bleed air, blower fans, gyros, inertial separator, environmental systems (ram air), and added even more sounds like the auto fuel selector.
- New ground roll and touchdown effects
- New walkaround, ground-cart, and propeller-inspection sounds
- Dedicated turbine-surge and engine-fire sound effects
- Directional exterior, flyby, and distant audio
- Unique AI/Multiplayer soundset for other aircraft
- Built-in headphone simulation (use “Pilot” intercom selector button)
The audio pack does require the Black Square TBM 850 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, which is sold separately. The MSFS 2020 edition of the aircraft is not supported. Users should note that the audio pack replaces the MSFS 2024 default TBM 930 audio and may not be fully compatible with the default aircraft.
