Eagle Dynamics Releases DCS World Update 2.9.15.9408 with DTC Functionality

Eagle Dynamics has released DCS World update 2.9.15.9408. This version introduces the new Cold War Germany terrain module by Ugra Media, depicting 1980s Central Europe. It also includes the initial implementation of the Data Transfer Cartridge system, providing F-16C and F/A-18C pilots with custom countermeasure and radio preset capabilities, with further functions planned. Additionally, the update brings the new DCS: F-4E Red Flag 81-2 campaign and various simulator fixes.

DCS Core

  • AI Aircraft. Wingman keeps saying “rejoin” but does not rejoin – fixed.
  • AI Aircraft. After receiving the task Attack group from trigger AI TASK PUSH, the AI plane ignores it and continues to perform Orbit – fixed.
  • AI Aircraft. Tu-22M3. Added delay between Kh-22 missile launches to 60 sec.
  • AI Aircraft. AIs will release ADM-141 decoy only in level flight, not in a dive.

  • AI Aircraft. Climb performance for AI P-51D adjusted
  • AI Aircraft. Ju-88 A-4. The plane stops while taxiing to the runway.
  • AI Sea. Disabled dynamic spawn interface for Old CV Admiral Kuznetsov version (non 2017) , it does not support needed model features for it to work properly. 
  • AI Ground. S-200 Minimal range for track radar set to 17 km due to minimal range from the missile.
  • AI Ground. Added many JTAC voice lines for specific weapons.
  • AI Ground. Trains wheels do not spin – fixed.
  • 3D Models. Fixed destroyed TPZ-1.
  • 3D Models. Fixed textures for Uragan, KS-19, Zil_135l, Flak37, Willys MB, and CCKW 353.
  • Weapons. Added 3D model for AIM-7P
  • Weapons. Added C-701IR missile to replace Deka’s.
  • Weapons. AGM-154A wind correction parameters updated.
  • Weapons. CTD when spawnGroup contains a group without a name – fixed.
  • Weapons. Added lower fin to 3D model ADM-141.
  • GUI Error on exit from ME after placing trigger zone – fixed.
  • GUI Error when open Replay after placing trigger zone – fixed.
  • GUI Error when click on ruler icon in ME – fixed.
  • GUI Error when saving a mission during opening Replay from ME – fixed.
  • ME. Object icons aren’t displayed when returning to ME from encyclopedia – fixed.
  • ME. Added some more rainy/snowy cloud presets.
  • ME. Added extra zoom level for map.
  • ME. Multi Select Tool changed selection logic so tool would not select hidden on map objects
  • ME. Added units for GDR: PT_76, S-60_Type59_Artillery, Mi-24V, Mi-8MT, Su-25, MiG-23MLD with their respective additional liveries.
  • ME. Trigger conditions time more, time less, and time since flags have default values based on abs. time – fixed.
  • Scripting API. Added new functions (world.getPersistenceData, world.setPersistenceHandler) for save mission convenience based on feedback  (Documentation:  Singletons )

  • Scripting API. DCS.getMissionName() returning the wrong name for .sav files (it includes .sav at the end of the name) – fixed.
  • Terrain Engine: improved lazy texture loading, this should improve graphics memory handling (depending on scene)
  • Terrain Engine: minor CPU optimization in render thread
  • Route tool. Waypoints problems if Route Tool was used in MP and then single player mission is loaded right after that – fixed.
  • Module configs and libraries loading optimization which should improve timings of first time loading into module cockpit
  • Optimization for module specific files load on DCS start which should improve DCS World startup time
  • Added potential fix for oversized explosion crater being visible in some situations

DCS: F-16C Viper by Eagle Dynamics

  • Improved TGP tracking AA target has jitter (wip).
  • Fixed: Radar Elevation too sensitive on a button (with user fix).
  • Fixed: Hot/Air start should activate GPS Time.
  • Fixed: IR missile preflare flare rejection behavior same across all missiles.
  • Fixed: RDR Cursor movement axis bug.
  • Fixed: HSD cursor unusually slow.
  • Fixed: FPM erratic behaviour with Drift C/O active.
  • Fixed: A-G Radar going from AGR->MAP when 5nm scale is selected puts MAP in invalid 5nm scale.
  • Fixed: FCR azimuth lines does not move along with rdr cursor.
  • Fixed: RWS-SAM ANT ELEV can become stuck after losing track.
  • Added: DTC Functionality (WIP)

Known issue: FCR range and azimuth bumping using cursor can intermittently fail.

DCS: F/A-18C by Eagle Dynamics

  • Improved TGP tracking AA target has jitter (wip).
  • Fixed: Ejection does not work.
  • Fixed: Cage button breaks the missile seeker when you have an STT.
  • Added. DTC Functionality (WIP)

DCS: AH-64D by Eagle Dynamics

  • Fixed: Pilot selecting FCR as sight breaks Cued LOS Reticle behavior.
  • Fixed: Air Data Probe Animation is broken.
  • Fixed: George CPG has “jumping” aiming.
  • Fixed: Strange Keybinds appeared after the latest update, instead of the NVS Mode.
  • Fixed: George AI. Switching up to cycle scrolling the target list does not work.
  • Fixed: Ground speed displayed in IHADSS below 40 knots GS.
  • Fixed: VID page options are still available if VSEL format is shown.

DCS: Mi-24P Hind by Eagle Dynamics

  • Added: New liveries from the livery competition winners
  • Fixed: Gear lever is placed in upper position after repair (should be down)

DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight by Eagle Dynamics

  • Fixed: Tail rotor max-min pitch animation by right-left pedals movement is inverted
  • Fixed: When spawning unarmed with the Mi-8 and then ask the ground crew to install door gunners, the back door gunner is inoperable

DCS: F-5E  by Eagle Dynamics

  • Fixed: Liveries of static F-5E-3 and F-5E FC are not shown in the previsualization window.
  • Fixed: “Cabin Pressure Switch – NORMAL” command not working.
  • Fixed: In the flight manual for F-5E-3 2024 DCS F-5Е-3 Flight Manual_ENG there are some sentence in Russian Управляет нейтральным положением ручки управления (триммерным эффектом)(page 104) and клавиша (page 265) instead of English.
  • Fixed:  Missing unit’s article in encyclopedia.
  • Fixed: Pilot shown in Static and Uncontrolled F-5E-3.
  • Fixed: Main landing gear and canopy animations issues.
  • Fixed: Some Iranian liveries have texture issues.
  • Fixed: Has a bigger rear than it looks – AI units get stuck while taxiing.
  • Fixed: Canopy when damaged is completely missing glass.
  • Fixed:  Glass damage is not the same inside and outside of the cockpit.

DCS: Black Shark 3 by Eagle Dynamics

  • Cockpit. “Danger Engine Vibration” audio warning cannot be heard – fixed

DCS: Yak-52 by Eagle Dynamics

  • Fixed. Wrong brakes behavior via axes
  • Fixed. Bindings for Landing Gear EXTEND and RETRACT not working
  • Fixed. Binding for the Emergency Gear Valve backwards
  • Fixed. Rudder by notch input did not move the rudder, causing a crash instead.
  • Fixed. Elevator Trim Keybindings not working
  • Fixed. Incorrect behavior of AI after takeoff and during landing.

DCS: JF-17 by Deka Ironwork Simulations

  • Updated. ETF SATAC Champion skin
  • Fixed. Brake parachute light logic
  • Fixed. JF-17 radar would trigger other’s RWR at too far distance

DCS Mirage F1 by Aerges

General:

  • Some options, such as: ‘Simplified Gear Lever’, ‘Simplified Firing Safety’, ‘Mode 4 IFF installed’, ‘Delayed Oil warning light’, ‘Counters reset on rearm/refuel’, are always read from the mission now. These options will be always in sync between seats in F1BE.
  • Fixed “AMPLI 2-1 selector switch – 1” autostop macros action. Previously it was switching to amplifier 2.
  • F1BE: “AMPLI 2-1 selector switch – 1” autostop macros command is now applied to the rear seat switch as well.

Weapons:

  • Fixed rockets not exploding on impact.
  • Fixed IR missiles becoming hung if the missile button was momentarily pressed and released.
  • A missile-launcher safety flap was added for the R550 missile. It prevents launch at speeds < 150 knots.
  • AIM-9 missile can be launched now disregarding its lock status.
  • AIM-9 missile now requires 40 seconds for gyro spin-up before it can be launched (it was previously 3 seconds).
  • Fixed crash that occurred with some payloads, especially modded or deprecated ones.
  • Fixed crash when jettisoning payloads from CLB4 and AUF2.
  • Changed rockets ‘XX Rocket Launcher Salvo Count’ option name to ‘XX Rocket Launcher Burst Count’ for clarity. This option is used with the ‘Single’ position of the ‘Single/Salvo selector’ switch.

Input:

  • Reworked clickability of RWR lights intensity adjusting switch and Spherical indicator day/night selector switch.
  • U/V, U, MKR/BF/TP, TB/APP potentiometers axes commands now work in F1BE rear seat.
  • Fixed F1BE rear seat ‘Engine emerg regulation priority switch’ initialization.
  • Fixed F1BE rear seat ‘Engine emerg regulation priority switch’ guard animation.
  • F1BE rear seat ‘Engine emerg regulation priority switch’ is reset now at aircraft repair.
  • Added default key combination for ‘Combined Flight Controls Mode’: LShift+C.
  • F1BE ‘Airbrake priority’, ‘High lift devices priority’, and ‘Demist switch’ switches can’t be clicked with closed guards anymore.
  • Fixed ‘High lift devices priority switch’ guard animation.
  • Changed “Telemeter/zone scanning switch – TEL (TL)” default binding. It is now LCtrl+LShift+Z.
  • V/UHF function selector, frequency mode, and UHF function selector switches now have input commands for each position.
  • V/UHF and UHF input commands were renamed: Added the radio name at the beginning of each command.

NOTE: Some tracks recorded in versions previous to this one may not work until the next update, due to changes in input regarding Master Arm switch. The fix will be provided in the next update.

DCS: C-101 Aviojet by AvioDev

  • C-101CC: Fixed ADI horizontal steering bar behavior in FD ‘Altitude hold’ mode.
  • Fixed APR CAP engagement logic. Previously it could engage once the glideslope signal becomes valid, disregarding the glideslope deviation value.
  • Fixed start up lesson (EN, ES and CN), that was getting stuck in the step to check throttle travel.

DCS: F-4E Phantom II by Heatblur Simulations

  • NEW FEATURE: Added support for user made Jester mods, added checkbox for mission designers (see manual modding chapter for details)
  • Audio Overhaul:
    • Reintroduce major J79 Audio overhaul
    • Adjusted distinct J79 howl trigger ranges
    • Revamped several major sound samples
    • Improved code driving sound sample playback in various situations (e.g. flyby).
  • Systems: Complete overhaul of pneudraulics system:
    • Overhauled the entire Hydraulics system, allowing for more flexible timestep and performance improvements.
    • Improved CPU performance without reducing simulation fidelity.
    • Improved flow restrictors and actuators simulation for better stability.
    • Improved component connection order ensuring proper flow.
    • Improved time to stabilize pressure along the entire circuit
    • Improved pressure distribution and energy for the entire hydraulic system.
  • Systems: Added landing gear small door smoothing for more animation fidelity.
  • Systems: Fixed Bombing Tool computing delta altitude wrong for DT (Dive Toss)
  • Systems: Added Bombing Tool show “!” (no solution) if drag coefficient is beyond max (9.99)
  • Avionics: Magnetic Compass overhaul for better accuracy.
  • JESTER: Added inhibition of Jester Radar callouts shortly after takeoff.
  • UI: Moved JTAC menu to the bottom of comms menu to avoid hiding the dash 4
  • UI: Improved mouseover hint for toggle mirrors
  • Radar: Adjusted symbology (incr. ACQ height, decr. wings length, incr. EL width) to be more accurate to the real DSCG screen.
  • Weapons: Fixed AGM-12C (Bullpup) not working on CN (chinese) clients
  • Weapons: Added SAMP-250 Chute Retarded Bombs HD
  • Art: Fixed minor issues with WSO ball textures. 
  • Audio: Fixed engine windmilling rattling sounds not being audible, even with heavy wind.
  • Initialization: The aural tone knobs initialize to LOW on cold start
  • Inputs: Added pitch feel trim neutral position smoothing settable from the special option menu
  • Inputs: Increased pitch feel trim dampening (reduces stick oscillations)
  • Inputs: Added keybinds for radar altimeter (test button, low altitude warning knob)
  • Inputs: Added missing keybinds for TACAN panels (Inc/Dec/Next, axes)
