Eagle Dynamics recently announced that an F-15E Strike Eagle module by RAZBAM entered the final validation and testing phase. As such, pre-orders are planned for February 15, 2023 and will be available with a 30% discount. Additionally, Eagle Dynamics states that an “Early Access” release will come within a few months following the pre-order date. For those that wish to get a headstart, a series of instructional videos, in which RAZBAM partnered up with a real former F-15E Weapon Systems Officer, are available to watch on YouTube.
The McDonnell Douglas F-15E Strike Eagle needs little introduction as its role in the last 36 years cemented its legacy as one of the quintessential multirole strike fighters of the modern era. Many associate the F-15E with its deployment in the Gulf War and subsequently the War in Iraq. What makes the F-15E different from its other F-15 counterparts is its design. The E variant was more capable for air-to-ground engagements thanks to its ability to carry more air-to-ground ordinance. Additionally, a weapons systems officer would be located in the rear cockpit allowing an additional crew member to operate air-to-ground avionics, freeing up the workload.
Needless to say, many DCS fans will be pleased to have another variant of the F-15 make its way onto the platform. Please stay tuned as we will provide updates for any and all DCS news including the progress of the DCS: F-15E Strike Eagle.
