Orbx has entered the aircraft arena with the release of the EA-7 Edgley Optica for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The unique aircraft was designed in Britain and engineered for low-speed, long-range observation work. The Edgley Optica is a great aircraft for sightseeing tours thanks to its 270 degree panoramic bubble cockpit and stable loitering speed of 81mph. Furthermore, the aircraft has an impressive range of 650 miles and can fly for nearly 8 hours straight.
Developed to a high level of quality, Orbx has included a range of features and elements to make sure this aircraft immerses you into the experience. The aircraft comes with a fully interactive cockpit that comes complete with an integrated checklist so that anyone can easily jump in and fly. Modelling and texture work has also been given plenty of attention with each element highly detailed and brimming with details. The flight model has been tried and tested and comes with the Optica’s ballast system.
As well as the aircraft, Orbx has packaged a bush mission and a landing challenge with the product so that you can try out your skills and get some practice in with the aircraft before venturing out in the world on your own. Orbx says that this is the “perfect aircraft for exploring landmarks, city packs and regions, especially in VR.”
