Scenery developer Drzewiecki Design has updated their expansive Washington Landmarks scenery, which was originally released for MSFS 2020. Washington Landmarks V2 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 & 2024 is a detailed recreation of the Capital of the United States, Washington D.C. The scenery features over 1,000 custom-made landmarks, buildings, and points of interest. According to the developer, Washington Landmarks V2 brings major terrain adjustments for compatibility with all MSFS Sim Updates and World Updates, new landmarks created from scratch, and upgraded textures of all buildings, among other enhancements.
Detailed areas in the District include hand-modeled areas like The Mall, West End, East End, Waterfront, as well as Crystal City and Rosslyn in Northern Virginia. Landmarks such as the White House and Washington Monument also include detailed interiors allowing users to explore the scenery through multiple, unique vantage points.
The package also includes custom-designed airport sceneries for Joint Base Andrews (KADW), Potomac Airfield (KVKX), and College Park Airport (KCGS). Several hand-crafted military and medical heliports have been faithfully recreated in the package, too, featuring custom buildings, ground layouts, and static aircraft.
Drzewiecki Design states that Washington Landmarks V2 is a brand new product and requires a separate purchase from the previous version, but the release price has been lowered by 30%. The original version of Washington Landmarks remains compatible with MSFS 2020, but will not be updated according to the developer. Additionally, the scenery offers seamless compatibility with Drzewiecki Design’s Washington National Airport (KDCA).
