Drzewiecki Design has released Narita International Airport (RJAA) for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The new release follows on from the Prepar3D and X-Plane 11 versions and is available on a variety of platforms.
The airport is fully compatible with World Update I: Japan, which was released by Microsoft last year for the simulator. The airport package also detailed and frame-rate friendly modelling thanks to special techniques applied. Furthermore, the airport scenery includes PBR materials, interior modelling and custom animations for various vehicles and objects around the huge airport. Finally, Drzewiecki Design has added custom orthophotography for the surrounding area and also custom mesh so that it blends in well with the surrounding area.
Tokyo Narita Airport is located approximately 35 miles to the northeast of the city. It opened in 1978 to help relieve the traffic from Haneda Airport. Narita Airport is currently the busiest airport in Japan, with around 43 million passengers each year. While the airport was primarily dedicated to international service, the growth of air traffic in Japan led to an increasing share of domestic traffic in Narita over the last two decades.
You can buy Drzewiecki Design’s Narita International Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator from a variety of stores including Aerosoft, FlightSim.com, Just Flight, Orbx and simMarket. The price varies at around £19.99 / $24.00 / €21.00 (taxes applied at various stores). It doesn’t appear as though there is any discount available for customers who own the Prepar3D or X-Plane editions of the scenery.
If you’re a Prepar3D user, check out the release of Narita here. X-Plane 11 users can read more about the XPL11 version here. In other news, Zim Scenery is also bringing a version of Narita Airport to Prepar3D, which we’ve been previewing for many months now.
