Drzewiecki Design Releases Chicago Landmarks for MSFS

Renowned scenery developer Drzewiecki Design continues to provide community members with accurate renditions of world-famous cities, this time releasing their Chicago Landmarks product to interested buyers via the simMarket Online Store.

The city of Chicago, commonly referred to as the “Windy City,” is located within the U.S. state of Illinois and directly borders Lake Michigan. With its 2.7 Mio. inhabitants, it is considered to be the most populous city within the state of Illinois and to be the 3rd most populous city within the United States overall. The city is an international financial hub, having been the place of creation of standardized futures contracts, and still lays claim to harboring the most extensive financial derivative trading center worldwide. Additionally, the city features one of the largest airports globally, coming in the form of Chicago O’Hare International Airport (KORD), located to the west of Chicago’s city center.

Drzewiecki Design has recently provided interested community members with their rendition of the “Windy City.” According to developers, the product features an accurate and immersive recreation of the city of Chicago, which is achieved by having placed over 2’000 custom created buildings and landmarks. The team affirms that the entire downtown area has been manually recreated and benefits from custom made buildings and Points of Interest (POI). Additionally, the scenery benefits from the latest in PBR texturing technology and uses extensive custom-made night lighting, bringing the city to life even after dark. The developers have also included a custom mesh, allowing the scenery to seamlessly integrate with the native MSFS environment. On a final note, it is also worth mentioning that, although no helicopters are available in the sim, the developer has taken the time to accurately recreate 17 city-wide heliports, essentially making the scenery ready for when helicopters make their debut within the new platform.
