Dreamflight Teases New Quito Airport Scenery Coming to MSFS

Following the release of its updated rendition of KTEB Teterboro V2 for MSFS and Jackson Hole for X-Plane 12, Dreamflight teased its next project, SEQM Mariscal Sucre Quito International Airport in Quito, Ecuador.

SEQM opened in 2013 to replace the infamous SEQU airport that had served the area for decades prior. The old SEQU airport was located in a tight spot at 9,213 ft (2,800m+) above sea level, lacked room for expansion to handle increased traffic, and was the site of numerous accidents over its decades long history of serving the city.

The new SEQM airport is sited ~1,300 ft (400m) lower at a measly 7,874 ft (2,400m) above sea level. It carries the same IATA code (UIO) and namesake as the older airport, while offering a 3,215ft (1000m) longer runway. It serves as a major hub for LATAM Ecuador and Avianca Ecuador, handles a large amount of air cargo from a wide variety of operators, and sees service from a variety of US, Canadian, Latin American, and European Airlines.

Dreamflight’s updated rendition of SEQM Quito is being built completely from scratch using the developer’s latest techniques to deliver the most detailed and immersive rendition of the airport possible.

In the announcement, the developer thanked Marcos Darquea for providing invaluable airport references and exclusive data that “simply isn’t available anywhere else.”
