Coming hot on the heels of their recent X-Plane release, highly regarded scenery developer Digital Design has just released their MSFS rendition of Liverpool John Lennon Airport (EGGP) via the simMarket online store.
Liverpool John Lennon Airport is an international airport located in the U.K. on the banks of the River Mersey, and mainly serves the city of Liverpool and its surrounding communities. Known initially as Liverpool Speke Airport, the facility opened its doors to commercial services on July 1st, 1933, with the first service being operated by Imperial Airways on its Liverpool – Croydon route. Although having been requisitioned by the Royal Air Force during WWII, the airfield was quick to be returned to commercial service following the cessation of hostile activities, with both a new runway and terminal building opening in 1966 and 1986, respectively. It was only in 2001 that the airport was reamended in recognition of famed Beatles legend John Lennon, becoming the first U.K. airport to be named after a person.
Famed scenery developer Digital Design, following their earlier P3D and X-Plane releases of the airport, has now also provided fellow MSFS users and Beatle lovers with its rendition of this historic airfield. Although no feature list was provided, judging from the screenshots provided on the scenery’s’ product page, prospective customers can assure themselves that the product does seem to live up to the standards set by previously released Digital Design products.
The scenery is as of now available for interested customers to purchase via the simMarket online store and will set you back €15.00 E.x. VAT. Customers already in possession of either the XPL or P3D version of the scenery are entitled to a discount and only have to pay €10.00 E.x. VAT.
