Eagle Dynamics, the company behind Digital Combat Simulator, published its 2026 and Beyond video, continuing a trend of annual showcases of the combat flight simulator platform.
The biggest reveal in the 6 minute long video came at the end with the announcement of a new Rafale C coming to DCS thanks to Heatblur, Jet Fighter Experience, and Fly and Fight. This also came alongside a separate announcement from Heatblur which we covered here. What makes this particularly exciting is that Dassault Systems is officially licensing this rendition of the omni-role fighter.
DCS 2026 and Beyond: Notable Features
The Eurofighter Typhoon is shown in several action shots from both external and internal perspectives with what appear to be functioning cockpit displays. Several exterior shots of the Heatblur Tornado in action appear, but no cockpit footage was shown. The forthcoming F-14B(U) upgrade to Heatblur’s Tomcat also appears.
For jet enthusiasts, the video shows what appears to be an updated cockpit for the Mirage F1M variant, along with shots of an F-104 Starfighter and F-100 Super Sabre.
For helicopter fans, several shots of an MBB BO 105 in action appear.
For those who prefer aircraft with blades oriented perpendicular to the ground, A Catalina and Corsair are showcased in the video as part of a larger Pacific Theatre and WWII segment. Detailed warships, stunning scenery, and a new U-Boat model were all shown.
A considerable amount of screen-time towards the beginning of the video was dedicated to showing off what appears to be new models and animations for ground-based troops.
Finally, previews were shown of the interface for what appears to be a dynamic campaign engine coming to DCS. In theory, this would help make the simulator feel more like a living world rather than a series of static scripted missions.
