Eagle Dynamics has announced that pre-orders for the DCS C-130J are now open. The module, developed by Airplane Simulation Company, is described as the newest and most advanced PC simulation of the C-130J.
A development update from Airplane Simulation Company was also included in the newsletter, detailing the progress made. The core flight model, engine, APU, electrical, hydraulic, fuel, and avionic systems are now complete. Multi-crew is also fully implemented for two players, and the cargo bay is fully walkable in VR and on flatscreen.
As the team approaches release, their focus is on finalising audio effects in the cargo bay, damage modelling, Levels of Detail (LODs), and the integration of a third multi-crew slot. Additionally, they are working on a vehicle airdrop system with Eagle Dynamics, along with tuning parachute deployment mechanics and heavy equipment extraction chutes.
Following the early access launch, the team’s focus will shift to the MC-130J variant, which will bring aerial refuelling capabilities and a third crew station for a Combat Systems Officer.
The DCS: C-130J Module can be pre-ordered from either Eagle Dynamic’s official E-Shop ($55.99) or directly from the Airplane Simulation Company’s website (£43.00). It has also been noted that the C-130J will be available on Steam at a later date.
