Developer DC Designs reached out to us to share with the community some new information and previews for their upcoming FA-18E/F/G package coming to FSX and P3D. The developer has now gone full time to ensure that this aircraft is as best as possible upon release.
In total, there will be 3 different variations of the aircraft included in the package upon release. This will be the FA-18E single-seat fighter, the FA-18F twin-seater and also the FA-18G “Growler”. All three aircraft will include custom animations, gauges, selectable weapons and also a paint kit. Performance is very much a priority for the developers using good modelling techniques and texture design rather than relying on huge polygon counts. The aircraft types are due to release for both FSX and P3D.
In terms of systems and functionality, DC Designs are designing the aircraft for the “mid-level” user. This means that there will be plenty of in-depth simulation and eye-candy, but accessible to people who may not be familiar or have time to research a 200-page manual. In terms of what people can expect from a “mid-level” experience, DC Design said “HUDs in the FA-18s will look like the real aircraft’s default display, but there won’t be multiple functions or weapons targeting options. Compatibility with TacPack or vACMI will be possible, however.”
DC Designs will return to scenery development in the future with Blackbushe Airport, next door to their Farnborough Airport. The idea is to focus on smaller UK airports and general aviation airfields, which are overlooked by larger developers.
That is all the information we have right now, but be sure to follow them on Facebook to stay up-to-date on their upcoming developments.
