A lengthy Facebook post shared by DC Designs has highlighted the future aircraft we can expect from the development team over the coming year. The new year will be a year of growth for the development team and will see a lot of products ported from the FSX/P3D catalogue to Microsoft Flight Simulator.
With the advent of Microsoft Flight Simulator, like other developers, DC Designs had to go back to the drawing board to bring products to the simulator. The coming year (and possibly beyond) will see 10 aircraft brought to the modern platform. The new technology and more powerful baseline requirements mean that DC Designs can continue bringing performance-driven products to the simulator without fear of causing low frame rates on customer’s PCs.
DC Designs will be working through a long list of products which include primarily aircraft, but also a few scenery projects too. In the coming year, DC Designs intends on bringing the following to Microsoft Flight Simulator:
- F-15 Eagles package
- F-18 Super Hornets package
- F-14 A/D Tomcats package – ( first native MSFS product )
- P-47 Thunderbolt
- USS Kitty Hawk
- Concorde
- F-16 C/D Fighting Falcons package
- A-10C Thunderbolt II
- Mk 9/14 Spitfires package
- Hawk T2
The above list is a “rough order of release”, but some of it may change depending on various elements of the SDK and possible complexities which may arise. Frequent readers may note that Farnborough and Blackbushe airports are missing from the list. DC Designs has confirmed that a second person has joined the team in order to help create scenery products. No time frames were given for any of the products, but suffice to say, we’ll keep you updated on progress.
