On October 26th, the virtual skies will be full of flight simmers travelling across the Atlantic. The bi-annual event is one of the largest on the VATSIM network, with over a 1000 pilots taking part. Earlier this year, voting was open for the event airports and those votes have now been counted with the airports chosen now confirmed.
The airports confirmed are as follows:
Departure:
KBOS Boston Airport
KJFK John F Kennedy Airport (New York)
KMCO Orlando International
KMIA Miami International
KORD Chicago O’Hare International Airport
CYYZ Toronto Pearson International Airport
Arrival:
EHAM Amsterdam Airport Schiphol
EKCH Copenhagen Airport
EIDW Dublin Airport
EGLL London Heathrow
EDDM Munich Airport
EPWA Warsaw Chopin Airport
Of course, those partaking in the event don’t have to fly to or from the above-listed airports, but these will be where the slots are available to pilots for a timely departure. If you choose to partake without a slot or from a non-event airport, then you may face delays.
Slot bookings will open shortly for those looking to fly to / from any of those airports.
Don’t forget, Audio for VATSIM will be available for wide-spread use on October 14th – making this the first Cross the Pond event to make use of the new features and clear voice technology.
